Between heavy showers on Saturday morning the Albert Lea U-13 girls’ soccer team played an exhibition game against a tough Lakeville squad.
The ball proved to be very slippery for both goalies with the teams exchanging goals early in the game.
Mariah Maras scored for Albert Lea off a centering pass from Morgan Stadheim. Stadheim added a second unassisted goal late in the first half.
Kelsey Paulson set up several drives with some good midfield passing.
Sophie Miller dropped five first half corner kicks right into goal box; however, the locals couldn’t send it in the net.
Lakeville scored early in the second half to tie it.
Stadheim scored Albert Lea’s third goal on a breakaway pass midway through the second half.
Lakeville came back to tie the game with less than two minutes left to play.
