Fountain Lake Sportsmen’s Club May meeting was held May 3 at the Union Center.

After 14 years of the Take a Kid Fishing Contest at Dane Bay/Katherine Island it will be moved to Edgewater Park. The bridge to the island is not safe for more than five people at a time and we have outgrown that area. The club will be having a hot dog and pop stand at the park.

Kids must be 16 or under to enter the contest.

Also the club will be selling raffle tickets during the fishing contest, the drawing will be after the fishing contest.

The club will be adding structure to Fountain Lake sometime this summer. Each spot will be marked with a buoy. If you would like to help please talk to a member or come to a meeting or call Mark at 448-0071.

If you happen to be fishing and catch one of the young walleye 8 to 10 inches, please put it back and wait a year, it will be a better catch when it grows a little.

The club is planning to have a unit in the July 3rd parade this year.

On October 1 the club is having a fish fry at the American Legion. Tickets will be sold in advance and at the door. There will also be a raffle and all prizes are donated by Wells Fargo. Check with Fountain Lake Sportsmen’s Club members for the raffle tickets.
