Helen Mallory, 89, Austin

Helen Lovine (Halseth) Mallory, age 89, of Austin, died Monday, April 25, 2005 at the Austin Medical Center.
Helen was born Aug. 30, 1915, in Albert Lea, to Adolph and Mae (Peterson) Halseth. She was the oldest of eight children. On March 7, 1936, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Mallory. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1996. Larry and Helen made their home in SE Austin and raised three sons. Helen lived in her home until shortly before her death.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, working in her flower garden, and enjoying the company of her cat. She was a strong, spirited woman and will be greatly missed by all of those who love her.
Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law: Eugene and Swanna Mallory of
Aloha, Ore., Gerald and Lenora Mallory of Austin, and Robert and Gloria Mallory of Austin; grandchildren: Jodi and Brian Williams, Joy and Mark Hawes, Cindy and Dan Brady, Kim and Bob Bumgarner, Michelle and Scott Harma, Ann and Troy Hansen, Kara Mallory, Jayme and Steve Lamers, and Brady Mallory; nine great- grandchildren; two sisters: Norma Ruud of
Albert Lea, and Delores Syed of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; a brother: Nordeen Halseth of Perry, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry; parents: Adolph and Mae Halseth; and sisters: Clarine Halseth, Eunice Wichmann, Mildred Halseth, and Lorraine Groff.
Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Friday, April 29, at Mayer Funeral Home, Austin,
with the Rev. Sherry Mason officiating. Friends called from 4-8 pm on Thursday and one hour before the service at Mayer Funeral Home on Friday. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.
