Funeral services for Tammy Ann Hughes, 30, of Albert Lea will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, at Grace Lutheran Church. The Revs. John Henriksen and Todd Walsh will officiate. Interment will be in the Freeborn Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Tammy died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at her home.
Tammy Ann Hughes was born Jan. 29, 1975, to Steven and Sonja (Olson) Sorensen in Wells. She was baptized and confirmed at the Freeborn Congregational United Church of Christ.
Tammy graduated from Alden-Conger High School in 1993. She was the Dairy Ambassador in 1993 and the Freeborn County Dairy Princess in 1994. On Sept. 28, 1996, Tammy was united in marriage to Robert Michael Hughes at Grace Lutheran Church.
She had been employed at a number of places in Albert Lea including ShopKo, Northpark, Wal-Mart, Security Bank and as a consultant for Pampered Chef. Most recently, Tammy worked for American Express Financial Advisors, Inc.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, taught Sunday school and was a Girl Scout &uot;Daisy&uot; leader. Tammy enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting and cross-stitching.
Survivors include her children, Sarah and Jonathan, of Albert Lea; parents, Steve and Sonja Sorensen of Freeborn; brothers and sisters, Dale and his wife, Mary Sorensen, of Iowa, Amy and her husband, Todd Drescher, of Conger, LeRoy and his wife, Angela Sorensen, of Mapleton, Kay and her husband, Alex Falcon, of Richfield and Ray Sorensen of Albert Lea; grandparents, Paul and Gert Sorensen of New Richland and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Tammy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; uncle David; aunt Cindy and great-aunts and great-uncles.
