Theresa Folie, 101, Clarks Grove

Funeral services for Theresa N. Folie, age 101, formerly of Clarks Grove, will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at East Freeborn Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Hernes will officiate. Interment will be in the East Freeborn Cemetery.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Theresa died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Theresa Nettie Folie was born Feb. 1, 1904, to Nels C. and Tilda S. (Dahlen) Jacobson in Riceland Township. She attended the Lerdal School. On June 15, 1927, Theresa was united in marriage to Mervel C. Folie. She lived her entire life in the Lerdal and Clarks Grove area and was a lifelong member of East Freeborn Lutheran Church. Theresa was a homemaker in the truest sense of the word. She spent many hours cooking and baking for her family, as well as for the &uot;Bachelor Brothers&uot; and could also be found in the barn helping with the milking. Theresa enjoyed quilting and crocheting and could simply look at something and make it without any kind of pattern. Her family was especially important to her.
Survivors include her children: Mervel, Jr. and his wife Beverly Folie, Paul and his wife Katherine Folie, Marjorie and her husband Jerald Wendelboe, David Folie, Dorothy Callahan and her friend Earl DeRaad, and Betty and her husband Henry Dohlman; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Pauline Folie and Carol Haraldson; brother, Bennett and his wife Gladys Jacobson; sister-in-law, Elsie Jacobson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons: Lyle and John; daughter, Barbara; daughter-in-law, Ruth Folie; grandchildren: Michael Wendelboe and Lorrie Canny; and two sisters and 5 brothers.
