Ada Mae Brindel, 90, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Ada Mae Brindel, of Albert Lea, will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by Albert Lea veterans organizations. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.

Ada died on Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 90.

She was born on Sept. 16, 1914, in Tyler, Minn., the daughter of Marius

and Dorothy (Sonnichsen) Friis. She attended school in Tyler. Ada served our country during World War II. She served in the WAVES as an instructor for the Naval Air Station.

She was united in marriage to Clifford Brindel in April of 1947 at St. Theodore Catholic Church.

Following their marriage they made their home in Albert Lea and throughout her life she had worked at Hotel Albert, Clothing Care, Wallaces, Rexall Drug, J.C. Penney and Pamida. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed embroidery and doing craft work.

She is survived by her son, Michael M. Brindel of Minnetonka; granddaughter, Nancy and her husband Mitchell Kuethe and their children, Katelyn, Trevor and Alex, of Alden; sister, Myrtle Peterson of Shellrock, Iowa; brother, Robert Friis and his wife Pearl of Austin; sister, Helen Christensen of Superior, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford, in 1989; daughter, Kathleen Marie Olson, in 1975; son, James Allen Brindel, in 1994; and sisters: Fern Gorman, Verna Peterson and Hazel Wichmann.
