The 27th annual Fountain Lake 5 was held June 4.

This year the race was an out-and-back course due to the bridge being out on the lake.

The course ended up being 4.6 miles.

Desiree Budd was the overall champion on a wet and rainy morning with a time of 27:12.

The top male finisher was Bryce Gaudian with a time of 32:12.

Major sponsors for the event were the Albert Lea Tribune, Freeborn County Shopper, Fountain Warehouse Liquor, Hy-Vee Foods and Tiger City Sports. More than 25 volunteers helped to make the run safe.
