James Paulson, 66, Clarks Grove

Memorial services for James W. Paulson, age 66, of rural Clarks Grove, will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 24, at the First Baptist Church of Clarks Grove. The Rev. James Cameron will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Thursday, June 23, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one-hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
James died on Monday, June 20, 2005, at his home.
James W. Paulson was born on June 8, 1939, in Freeborn County, the son of Ivan and Mabel (Nelson) Paulson. He was a life long resident of Freeborn County. James graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1957. On Nov. 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Shirley Zak at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newry. James was a farmer, he raised Arabian horses, and he was a truck driver.
e was a member of First Baptist Church in Clarks Grove, and a member of the Eagles Lodge in Albert Lea. James liked camping, horses, western culture including movies books and music, and especially having coffee and visiting with friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; his children: Kevin, Joleen, Ken, Jill, Keith, Heather, Kirk, Kevin, Kara and Rodney; grandchildren: TJ, Clark, Alyssa, Meghan, Shane, Kelsey, Anna, Dan, Dylan and Dakota; brother, Allen and his wife Millie Paulson; sister, Marlene and her husband Rolf Otteson; brothers-in-law: Dennis and his wife Karen Zak, and Gary Zak; sister-in-law, Sharon and her husband Gary Bauldry; mother-in-law, Anna Zak; and several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law.
