Beverly J. Nelson, 72, of 901 N. Ninth Ave., Northwood, Iowa, died Tuesday July 26, 2005, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Deer Creek Valley Lutheran Church, rural Glenville.

The Rev. Jeff Wallager will officiate.

Interment will be in London Deer Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Northwood.

Visitation is Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Conner Colonial Chapel, Northwood, and one hour before the service at the church.

The family suggests memorials to the Beverly J. Nelson memorial fund.

Beverly was born Feb. 6, 1933, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Selmer and Rose (Bergo) Forde. She graduated from Northwood High School in 1950. Beverly married Kenneth Nelson on June 20, 1954, at the Shell Rock Lutheran Church, Northwood, Iowa.

They farmed in rural Glenville area.

She enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, sewing, making quilts but most of all spending time with her family and friends.

Beverly was a member of Deer Creek Valley Lutheran Church, Glenville.

Beverly is survived by her two sons: Greg Nelson and his wife Kathy of

Glenville and their children Erik Nelson of Glenville and his special friend Emily Meyer of Northwood, Iowa and Brianna Nelson of Glenville; and

Mike Nelson and his wife Cheryl of Glenville and their children Rachel Nelson of Glenville, Chandra Holmen and her husband Brett of Becker, Penny Volk and her husband Josh of Emmons and Cathie Jo Chapek and her husband Bill of Myrtle. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley Forde and his wife Cynthia of Hempstead, Texas, and Ronald Forde and his wife Liz of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; and two sisters Doris Asbjornson of Northwood, Iowa, and Shirley Peterson of Kimbalton, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth on June 10, 2000; brother Jerry Forde; father-in-law and mother-in-law Reuben and Agnes Nelson; three brothers-in-law, Phil Black, Art Peterson and Aldon Asbjornson; and a sister-in-law, JoAnne Nelson.
