The Albert Lea Area Colonels played well against the Mankato Twins but couldn’t get that fact to reflect on the scoreboard falling, 8-0.

The Twins, who are undefeated on the season, were led by pitcher Dane Seicott, a Mankato State product, who dominated Colonels’ hitters striking out 15 in the game and allowing just one hit.

Albert Lea’s Mike Caballero had the team’s lone base hit in the game.

Derek Anderson pitched six innings for the Colonels giving up eight runs, five earned on 10 hits while striking out a pair.

&uot;Derek pitched well despite what the numbers say,&uot; said Albert Lea head coach Bill Trygstad.

&uot;They are just a deep, solid team and we struggled against a very good pitcher.&uot;

&uot;We played better in this game than we have in several others even if the numbers don’t show it.&uot;

Justin Kohn pitched the final two innings for the Colonels giving up just two hits and striking out two.

The loss dropped Albert Lea to 2-18 on the season.
