Jerome Engelby, 81, of Rochester

A memorial service for Jerome B. &uot;Jerry&uot; Engelby will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Norgaard officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Wells.
Mr. Engelby, age 81, of Rochester, a retired Midwest Breeders Association employee, died Monday, July 11, 2005, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
He was born Jan. 21, 1924, on the family farm in Frost, Faribault County, to Embert and Hattie (Oleson) Engelby. He was raised on the farm and attended country schools. On April 8, 1944, he married Rozella L. Anderson in Mankato. He then served in the U.S. Army and returned to Frost for a year after his discharge. The couple then lived in Rake, Iowa, for five years where he worked as a truck driver for the implement company. He then moved to Wells for four years and started his career with Midwest Breeders Association.
He was transferred to Goodhue, Minn., in 1956 and worked as a sales and service technician for Midwest Breeders Association, retiring in 1978. The couple moved to Wells for nine years and Waseca for seven years before moving to Rochester in 2000. He was a member of the Wells American Legion Post #210 and enjoyed collecting, reading, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters: Paulette Engelby of St. Paul, Roxane Bang of Seattle, Wash., and Trudy (Scott Soffa) Engelby of Rochester; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and his brother, Marvin (Adeline) of Pine City, Mimm.
His parents, one son, one sister, and one brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call one hour before the service on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Luke Lutheran Church of Goodhue, or the American Heart or Cancer Societies.
