Pearl Knutson, 89, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Pearl E. Knutson, age 89, of Albert Lea, and formerly of Hartland, will be held Tuesday, July 19, at 10
a.m.from the Hartland Evangelical Lutheran Church. the Rev. Dennis Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be at the Hartland Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pearl died Friday, July 15, 2005, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Pearl Evelyn Knutson was born July 28, 1915, the daughter of Selmer and Hilda (Johnson) Gulbrandson. She attended District #98 and the Albert Lea Vo-Tech where she took accounting classes. On June 2, 1934, Pearl was united in marriage to Lawrence Knutson at the Hartland Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pearl was employed at the Hartland Elevator as the bookkeeper and she also worked at the Hartland Bank. She also volunteered for the March of Dimes when it first began until the Polio vaccine became available. Pearl was also on the board for the March of Dimes Foundation and worked with the Freeborn County Red Cross and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary. Pearl was devoted to her church where she held various offices in the Circle, Ladies Aid and the Hartland Mothers Club. She also belonged to the Senior Citizens Center in Hartland and the Birthday Club. Pearl loved to spend time with all of her family.
She is survived by her sister, Cordelia Olson of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Debra and husband Steve Williams, Brett and wife Lori Crumb, Bruce and wife Theresa Crumb, and Todd and wife Crystal Crumb; great-grandchildren: Rachel and husband Steve Clay, Steve Williams, Nathan, Michael, Andrea, Valerie and husband Steven Nelson, Jackie, Matthew, Jason and Ashley Crumb; and
five great-great-grandchildren.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; daughter, Barbara and husband Dale Crumb;and brothers-in-law: Irvin Olson, George Tukua, and Glen and wife, Lila Wangen.
