Funeral services for Ansel T. Thostenson, age 89, of Albert Lea, will be held 2
p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, at Salem Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jay Dahlvang will officiate. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Ansel died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.
Ansel Tilford Thostenson was born Oct.19, 1915, to Theodore and Thea (Knudson) Thostenson in Manchester Township. He was baptized and confirmed at the West Freeborn Lutheran Church. On Sept. 22, 1979, Ansel was united in marriage to Helen Huper at the Salem Lutheran Church. He was a lifelong farmer who especially loved horses and farmed with them until his retirement in 1997. Ansel also drove bus for the New Richland School District and milk truck for the Hartland Creamery. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church.
Ansel is survived by his sister, Inez Shaunce of Geneva, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; and brothers and sister: Alvin, Norvin, Theodora and Willy.
