Funeral services for Edward Charles &uot;Fast Eddy&uot; Broderick Jr., age 35, of Clarks Grove will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at Bayview/ Freeborn Funeral Home. Archie Kroeger will officiate. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Clinton, Iowa, on Tuesday. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bayview/ Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at Bayview on Monday.
Eddy died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, at his home in Clarks Grove.
Edward Charles Broderick, Jr. was born July 3, 1970, to Edward C. Broderick, Sr. and Paty Stansbarger in Clinton, Iowa. He moved to Albert Lea 20 years ago. Eddy graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1990 and attended Riverland Community College for two years and served in the United States Army. On March 28, 1991, he was united in marriage to Amy Lynn Pechumer in Albert Lea. Eddy was the maintenance manager for Ring Can Corp. He attended the United Lutheran Church in Walters and was a member of several automobile clubs including Car Craft, NHRA, and the Oldsmobile Club. Eddy enjoyed mechanical fabrication, fishing, and drag racing. He loved his cat, Maurice.
Survivors include his wife Amy Broderick of Clarks Grove; his parents, Paty and her husband, Bruce Thrond of Emmons and Edward C. Broderick Sr. of Clinton, Iowa; his siblings: Laurie and husband, Ted Herman of Albert Lea; Richard Broderick of Albert Lea; Trisha-Lyn and husband, Shane Edwards of Germany; Jeremy and wife, Janelle Broderick of Clinton, Iowa; and Ashley Broderick of Illinois; grandfather, Laurence Stansbarger of Albert Lea; nieces and nephews: Zachary Herman and Jessica Herman of Albert Lea, McKenzie Edwards and Briana Edwards of Germany and Tonya Tuttle and Taylor Tuttle; great-grandmother, Grace Bailey of Clinton, Iowa; mother-in-law, Linda and her husband, Dave Carpentar; father-in-law, Bill and his wife, Dena Pechumer; children, Nathanial Stahl of Austin and Cass Novak of Minnesota Lake; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many, many buddies.
Eddy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lela Stansbarger; great-grandfather, Wilson Bailey; uncle, Richard Stansbarger; grandparents, Jim Broderick and Lucille Renkes; uncle, Danny Broderick; and great-grandparents, Herman and Frieda Otten and James and Bertha Broderick.
