Goldie Johnson, 95, Wells

Goldie A. Johnson, age 95, of Wells, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at Parkview Care Center in Wells.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Chapel in Wells with the Rev. Paul Baker officiating. Visitation will be held at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells on Monday, Aug. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m., with VFW Auxiliary prayer service at 5 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Interment will be in Rice Lake Cemetery in Foster Township, Faribault County.

Goldie was born on July 15, 1910, in Monango, N.D., and daughter of Henry C. and Daisy (Gregory) Buendorf. On Dec. 30, 1930, she married Alvin Johnson. She lived most of her life in Wells and lived the past two years at The Shepherd’s Inn in Wells.

She worked at Banquet Foods for 17 years prior to her retirement.

Goldie was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells and had been an active member of Love Circle, the Wells VFW Auxiliary and the Wells Senior Citizens.

She is survived by daughters: Darlyne and her husband Richard Espeland of Forest City, Iowa, and Coni and her husband Alan Olson of Wells; one son, LaMar and his wife Bev of Wells; two sisters: Marie Johnson and husband Vernon of Wells, and Loretta Bendickson of Huntsville, Ala.; 12

grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin, in 1978; a son, Ralph, in December of 2000; two brothers: Earl and Merle and his wife Ruby Buendorf; a sister, Greta, in infancy; and a brother-in-law, James Bendickson.
