Grace Jensen, 91, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Grace Amundson Jensen will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Salem Lutheran Church of Albert Lea. The Rev. Jay Dahlvang will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Grace died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, at the age of 91.

Grace was born Aug. 3, 1914 in Albert Lea, the daughter of Berent and Anna (Peterson) Amundson. She attended public school in Albert Lea and graduated in 1932. She was united in marriage to Frank W. Jensen on June 12, 1940, at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. She lived most of her life in Albert Lea except for stays in Great Falls, Mont., and Wilmington, Del., while Frank served abroad in World War Il.

She returned home to Albert Lea in 1945. Grace devoted her life to her family and friends. She enjoyed living the last 7 years at Luther Place.

Grace was a life long member of the Salem Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed.

She is survived by her three children; son, John and his wife Gretchen Jensen; daughter, Marsha J. Knutson; and son, Mark and his wife Libby Jensen. Seven grandchildren survive; David, Erik, Kirsten, Matt, Luke, Amy and Anne. There are six great-grandchildren; Hannah Grace, Emma, Jakob, Elise, Lydia Grace, and Lauren Grace.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents: Berent and Anna Marie (Peterson) Amundson; husband, Frank W. Jensen; infant son, Robert Warren Jensen; son in law, Paul M. Knutson; and four sisters: Pauline Wagner, Anne Wittmer, Ruth Jorgenson and Coral Amundson.

Memorials preferred to Salem Lutheran Church.
