James Praxl, 71, Waseca

James J. Praxl, age 71, of Waseca, died of lung cancer on Sunday, July 31, 2005, at Cedarview Care Center in Owatonna where he had lived since this past December.

Born in Waseca on March 11, 1934, he was the son of Leo and Helen (Johnson) Praxl. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Waseca and later served in the U.S. Army until receiving a medical discharge. He then worked at various places in Waseca including, Swift & Company, Midland Coop. Feed Mill, Birds Eye Division of General Foods, Waseca County Recycling Center, and was a greeter at Wal-Mart.

He had also worked at Enderes Tool Company in Albert Lea. His hobbies included fishing, collecting golf balls and antique canes.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca.

He is survived by one brother, John “Jack” (Phoebe) Praxl of Waseca, and one sister, Delores (Richard) Weller of Albert Lea.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Wayne.

Funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with the Rev. John Kunz officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Education Endowment Fund or to donor’s choice.
