Janet Ruediger Scott was born Aug, 30, 1932, in Minneapolis to George and Bernice Ruediger.
She died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, in Tucson, Ariz., of complications while recovering from brain surgery in April.
She was a graduate of The College of St Catherine, St Paul, and had a
Smith – Hughes certification from Iowa State University. She taught grades 7 through 12 in Pine Island until she married Gerald C. Scott, her husband of 50 years.
She had a great love of plants and had for many years led weekly work groups as chairwoman of the Plant Propagation Committee for the Friends of the University of Michigan Matthai Botanical Gardens.
In addition to her husband, Jerry; she is survived by her daughter, Anne (Bruce) Grasberger of Trappe, Pa.; son, Kevin of
Lewisville, Texas; grandchildren: Andrew and Christopher Grasberger; and sisters: Marilyn Evanson of Woodbury, Minn., and Betty Ziegler of Minnetonka, Minn., and their children.
At 11 a.m. on Aug. 19 a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church in
Saline, Mich., where she lived for the past 35 years.
Services are entrusted to East Lawn Palms Mortuary.
