Marvel Hedum, 77, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Marvel E. Hedum, age 77, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30
a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at the First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Dan Baker will officiate. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Marvel died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Marvel Elaine Hedum was born Dec. 28, 1927, to Fred and Anna (Beiser) Horntasch in Walters. She graduated from Wells High School. On Jan. 23, 1947, Marvel was united in marriage to Elmo Hedum in Wells. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary and had been president of the PTA, a Cub Scout leader, and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Marvel enjoyed crocheting, craft work, flower gardening, and traveling. She loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Elmo of Albert Lea; son, Kevin Hedum of Albert Lea; daughter, Kim and husband Gene Hertges, also of Albert Lea; and son, Kyle and wife Diana Hedum of Elk Grove, Calif.; grandchildren: Olivia Hedum, Jason Hedum, Amber and husband, Joe Niebuhr, Jessica BacaEspejo, Mariah Hertges, Tara Hertges, Emily Hertges, Ryan Hedum, Christopher Hedum, and Shane Hedum; and great-grandchildren, Allie Niebuhr, Timothy Hedum, and Gustado and Soriah Baca.
Marvel was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donald.
