Editorial: Enjoy school festivities responsibility

The next few weekends mark a long-standing custom for every school: homecoming.
It’s a time when many alumni return to the community to take part in time-honored tradition and root for the home team.
While it’s an exciting time with many activities planned, including coronations, sporting events, dinners and dances, we want to remind those taking part to celebrate responsibly.
We urge everyone to refrain from using drugs and alcohol. Of course, it’s illegal for high schoolers to drink, but unfortunately, that doesn’t always stop them.
And for those who are old enough to drink (many alumni) the old adage of, &uot;If you drink, don’t drive, and if you drive, don’t drink,&uot; holds true.
Homecoming is a time to get into the spirit of things, not partake of spirits.
We want everyone to be able to take part in many homecomings to come.
Please party responsibly.
