NEW RICHLAND &045; It wasn’t NRHEG’s best performance of the season, but it was good enough for a win over Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton in four games 23-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-19.
Both teams came out flat in the opening game with the Panthers playing a passive brand of volleyball.
Neither team was able to work with more than a two point lead, but JWP held that advantage in the end.
The Panthers turned up their play in game two and jumped out to a 16-7 advantage.
JWP would battle back to tie it at 20, but NRHEG took five of the next six points to secure the win.
NRHEG would hold on for a game three win with neither team stringing together much offense, and put the match away in the fourth game getting good play at the end of the game.
&uot;It’s always good to be able to travel to JWP and bring home a win,&uot; said NRHEG head coach Jackie Schulz.
&uot;We haven’t done that in a while.
We passed and served well tonight.&uot;
Brandis Hagen led the team with 14 kills and 20 digs, Alison Anderson added 11 kill and six blocks and Brittany Hansen had 26 digs and 11 points off her serve.
The win improved NRHEG to 7-5-1 overall and 2-1 in conference action.
