Robert Tyler, 80, Superior, Neb.

Robert E. Tyler, the son of Oscar and Veda (Wilson.) Tyler, was born. March 20, 1925, on a farm in Webster County, Neb.

He departed this life on Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Neb., at the

age of 80 years.

Bob served his country with the United States Navy during World War II, being inducted on July 27, 1943, and was honorably discharged on April 23, 1946.

After getting out of the Navy, Bob went to work for an uncle who owned and operated a wholesale plumbing/heating/air conditioning business. Bob first worked as an outside sales representative out of Great Bend, Kan., and later took a job at the home officein Albert Lea. Bob retired in 1984 and he and his wife Ruby moved to Superior, Neb. In his retirement years Bob enjoyed doing various handy-man projects around the house and playing golf in his spare time.

Bob had been an active member of the Elk’s Lodge, the Masonic Lodge and Shrine. He had also held memberships with the American Legion and VFW.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Gerald and James Tyler.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby of Superior, Neb.; sister, Carol Fenimore and husband Dean of Superior, Neb,; sister, Yvonne Scroggins of Newberg, Ore.; brother, Roger Tyler of Hastings, Neb,; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Memorial graveside services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Guide Rock Cemetery, Guide Rock, Neb. The Rev. Mark Diehl officiated. Williams Funeral Home of Superior, Neb., is in charge of the arrangements.
