USC runners finish second

For the second time in less than a week, the USC/AC boys’ and girls’ cross country teams finished second in an invitational.
The boys’ team was edged by one point by Lake Crystal-Wellcome-Memorial/Nicollet.
The Rebels were led by Greg Opseth who finished fourth in the competition.
Erik Melby (8th) and Sam Hallman (10th) also finished in the top 10.
The girls finished second to Windom which won the competition with 50 points, followed by the Rebels with 74.
Jamie Klein led the girls with a second place finish.
&uot;I was pleased with the performance of the girls,&uot; said Rebel head coach Kent Viesselman.
&uot;All five of them ran their fastest times of the season.&uot;
