Clarine Cardinal, 80, of Albert Lea

The funeral service for Clarine (Koepke) Cardinal will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Wayne Halvorson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood

Cemetery. Visitation will from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.

Clarine died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

She resided at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center. She was 80 years old.

Clarine was born on July 8, 1925, in Worth County, Iowa. She was raised by her grandparents, Halnor and Carrie Frosager on their farm.

Clarine went to school in the Troe School and later attended Lime Creek Christian Day School and then Emmons High School.

Clarine was employed at several restaurants in Albert Lea as a cook and waitress. She loved to play cards and dancing was another joy to her.

Survivors are her husband, Roy, who is also at Good Samaritan Center; three daughters: Sandi and her husband Norb

Weitzel of Albert Lea, Pam and her husband Tom Seveska of Gurnee, Ill., and Beth and her husband, Bruce Rheinfels of Albert Lea; one son, Ted Ballard and his wife Trish of Ingleside, Ill.; grandchildren: Kevin Weitzel and his wife Tami, Wrey Frechette and his wife Jan, Kindra and her husband James Kostka, Brian and Brandon Mellang, Rick Frechette and his wife Michelle, Eric and Mitch Ballard, Heidi, Michelle, and Madalynn Seveska; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters: June Larson of Albert Lea, Judy Hanson and her husband Danny of Albert Lea, and Lois Davis and her husband Ron of Seattle, Wash.; special cousin, Bev and her husband Larry Wolf of St. Ansgar, Iowa; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her husband, Jerry Koepke; mother, Cora Johnson; daughter, Julie Bure; son, Lenny; four grandchildren: Brad and Cindy Weitzel, Brenda Mellang and Tommy Degen; sister, Irene Modderman; and brother, Harlan Johnson.
