Daniel W. Huper, age 50, of Wells, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005 of a farming accident.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, with Revs. Paul Baker and Meg Sander officiating. Visitation will be held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells on Sunday, Oct. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m., and one hour prior to services at church on Monday. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells. MN with military honors by the Wells Color Guard.
Daniel Huper was born on July 12, 1955, in Wells, the son of Willard and Marvel (Korman) Huper. He graduated from Wells/Easton High School, the class of 1973. He graduated from Mankato State University with a degree in accounting. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam era. He married Karen Sivertson on Nov. 20, 1976, in Goldsboro, N.C. He was a lifelong resident of the Wells area and farmed with his family since 1978.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the Wells American Legion and DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and Faribault County Pheasants and Pheasants Forever. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and enjoyed being up north at the cabin.
He is survived by his wife, Karen of Wells, his parents; Willard and Marvel Huper of Wells; one sister, Beverly Sylvara and fiance Dave Blasing of Janesville;
two brothers: Steve and wife Kim Huper of Wells, and Tom and wife Angie Huper of Wells; his mother-in-law, Coleen Sivertson of Bottineau, N.D.; brothers and sister-in-laws: Sherilyn and husband Lloyd Flatt of Portland, Ore., Kevin Sivertson of Rolla, N.D., and Ross and wife Jane Sivertson of St. John, N.D.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins
He was preceded in death by his son, Cory Huper; his grandparents; and his father-in-law, Lloyd Sivertson.
