Dale C. Gimberline, 61, Edgewater, Colo.

Freeborn native, Dale C. Gimberline, passed away at age 61 on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, after battling a brain tumor for 10 months.
Dale was raised in Freeborn by his parents Ila Marie (Gardner) and Milford C. Gimberline on their farm with his two brothers, Dennis and Donald. He attended Freeborn High School, and graduated in 1962. He joined the Air Force in 1965 and was stationed in various places including Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. When stationed at Charleston A.F.B. in Charleston, S.C., he was Crew Chief and was able to travel to Germany, Turkey and Greece. Dale was discharged in December 1968; having worked on planes such as the C-141, with a rank of Staff Sergeant.
When stationed in Wichita Falls, Texas, he met his wife Nancy J (Bonnell) and they married in
1968. Dale and Nancy moved to Edgewater, Colo., in 1971 where they had three children: Shaun, Michele, and Debbie. Since 1982, Dale had owned and operated his own construction company, Dale’s Drywall. Dale was a prominent member of the Edgewater community where he served on the Planning and Zoning board. He helped maintain the small town atmosphere that makes Edgewater so special.
Dale is survived by his wife, his brothers and their families, and his children. He has one aunt in Florida, Norma Rabe and two aunts that reside in Wells: Berdine Drager and Toni Gimberline. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, with services at noon on Friday, both at Crown Hill Mortuary in Colorado, burial to follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery with full military honors.
