Memorial services for David W. Steltzner, 58, of Albert Lea will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.
The Rev. Gordon Larson will officiate.
Private interment will take place prior to the service.
David died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.
David William Steltzner was born June 14, 1947, to William D. and Bernice (Evanson) Steltzner in Forest City, Iowa. He grew up in Forest City and graduated from Mason City High School in 1966.
Following graduation, David served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
On July 14, 1972, he married Mary Jane Nerland in Manly, Iowa. The couple lived in Mason City until moving to Albert Lea in 1984. David was employed at various places as a night sanitation worker, retiring from Ventura Foods in 2001.
He loved football, the Minnesota Vikings, playing cards and especially playing with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Jane, of Albert Lea; daughters, Gina and husband, Bruce Thimmesch of Glenville and Tracy and husband, Scott Harty of Claremont; grandchildren, Jessica and Alexandra Thimmesch and Justin and Kevin Harty; mother, Bernice Steltzner, of Mason City; mother-in-law, Evelyn Nerland of Williams, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Fran Steltzner of Mason City and Patty and husband, Curt Hensley of Louisiana; brothers-in-law, Mike and wife, Kay Nerland of Georgia and Bob Jensen of Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his father, William; his brother, Mike; and grandparents; aunts; and uncles.
