Diane Larson, 64, formerly of Kiester

Diane Sharon (Thorson) Larson, age 64, formerly of Kiester died on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Kiester, with the Revs. Dick Steffen and Kent Otterman officiating. Visitation will be held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at church on Friday.
Interment will be in Our Savior’s Cemetery in Kiester.
Diane was born May 24, 1941, the daughter of Orville and Bessie (Salley) Thorson at their home in Emmons. She was baptized at Bricelyn Lutheran Church, and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kiester. Diane graduated from Kiester High School. On June 21, 1959, she was united in marriage to Leon R. Larson in Kiester. Diane worked at Paulson Drug store and then Kiester Grocery until her aneurysm in 1992. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Our Savior’s WELCA. She loved her grandchildren, and also enjoyed talking on the phone, having coffee and sweets, singing and watching Elvis movies. She had been a resident of Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea.
She is survived by her children: Lori and her husband Lee Schumann of Kiester, Jodi and her husband Jeff Willaby of Mansfield, Scott and his wife Christy Larson of Cottage Grove; 5 grandchildren: Anthony Schumann of Oakdale, Amanda Willaby of Mankato, Lacy Schumann of St. Paul, Ava and Abigail Larson of Cottage Grove; 1 sister: Virginia (Wilbur) Willis of Red Springs, Mo., 5 brothers: Alan (Lorrane) Thorson of Bemidji, Minn., Wayne Thorson of Grand Rapids, Minn., Terry (Betsy) Thorson of Brainerd, Minn., Neil Thorson of Merryville, Calif., J.B. (Deb) Thorson of Laporte, Minn.; Step-mother: Carmen Thorson of Rochester, step-sister: Darlene Aske of Chatfield, and step-brother: Roger Johnson of the Twin Cities; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon in 1991, and her in-laws: Arthur and Bernice Larson.
