Editorial: School district must follow protocol

We don’t condone the alleged &8220;swat&8221; on the back of the head by any district educator as one parent suggested happened, but we are confident the school district is handling the incident as protocol dictates.

The parent, who requested her son be removed from the classroom, was correct when she said different kids respond differently to various forms of discipline.

No student should expect physical correction at the hands of adults they should be able to trust.

However, we also don’t condone the district &045; or parents for that matter &045; taking an alarmist approach. The reputation of a teacher is also at stake.

If allegations prove to be true, then the district should take strong disciplinary action to ensure students won’t be subject to such treatment.
