Gladys J. Sorenson, age 93, of Austin died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at the Austin Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 2, 1912, in Freeborn County, to Jacob and Sella (Christopherson) Fodness. Gladys attended school in Freeborn County and graduated from Albert Lea High School in the class of 1930. She was married to Nels C. Sorenson on March 2, 1938, in Northwood, Iowa. They resided in Austin where she was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Gladys enjoyed collecting antiques and socializing with her friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers, Franklin, Marvin, Harry and Raymond and sisters, Esther, Bdna, Alice and Mary.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kristi Koppel officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be held at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church for one hour before the service. Music will be by Neal Erickson.

Dankert of Colorado Springs, Colo., three grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, brothers and sister-in-law, James and Priscilla Fodness of Glenville, John Fodness of Cleveland, Texas, sisters, Ruth Ratien of Austin, Annette Bond of Austin, nieces and nephews.
