Joann Toot, 64, of Albert Lea

The funeral service for Joann Toot will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Bromeland will officiate.

Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before service at the chapel.

Joann died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at her daughter’s home in Colorado.

She was 64 years old.

Joann Sue (Thompson) Toot was born at home in Albert Lea, to Lewis Andrew and Alma Matilda (Nassen) Thompson on Feb. 11, 1941. She was married to Roger Toot on May 14, 1960, and divorced in 1976. She went to Sunday School and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. She later taught Sunday School for 12 years at United Methodist Church, Albert Lea.

Joann had been a member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary since 1965. She loved to go to Stock Car Races to watch her two sons, Darin & Kevin race. In later life she loved to go to the Casinos. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles (especially logic puzzles), reading books, painting pictures, crocheting and knitting. She also loved Country Western Music and ballroom dancing.

Joann is survived by her children: Kevin and wife, Katie Toot of Albert Lea, Brian Toot of Albert Lea, Luann and husband, David Wagar of Colorado Springs, Colo., Darin and wife, Dawn Toot of Albert Lea; eight grandchildren: Kris, Amy, Jenny, Daniel, Kayleen, Emily, Christopher and Sarah; one great grandchild, Alivia; half sister, Clarine Marie (Slaughter, Brua) Larson; four nieces and 1 nephew.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents, ex husband, Roger Toot,

half brother, Melvin Hjalmer Slaughter.
