The two teams played rather evenly in the first quarter, but in the second quarter the Bulldogs pulled away from G-E.

Lake Mills outscored the Wolverines 24-8 in the second and went into the halftime break with a 14-point lead.

In the second half, the Bulldogs dominated the court. Led by Melissa Brackey, LM’s offense scored 30 more points in the second half of the game and only allowed the Wolverines to score 15.

Brackey scored a team leading 17 points on the night.

&8220;She’s always going for the ball or going for a steal,&8221; said VanGorkom.

Megan Pederson and Whitney Thompson also played very well. Pederson scored 12 and Thompson had 11. In total the Bulldogs had 10 players on the score in the game.

For G-E, Ashley Lau lead the scoring with nine. Chelsey Ziebell and Jordyn VanRyswyk both poured in eight.

Up next for G-E is Grand Meadow on Tuesday night at home.

The Bulldogs’ next game is Friday at home against North Iowa High School.
