Elaine Sorenson, 59, of Geneva

Memorial services for Elaine Marie Sorenson, age 59, of Geneva, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the Community Lutheran Church of Geneva. The Rev. Joel Xavier will officiate.

Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Elaine died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Elaine was born on Oct. 28, 1946, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Solveig (Skaar) and Warren Sorenson. She moved with her family from the Hayward area to Geneva in 1949. Elaine attended school in Albert Lea. She was one of a class of eight in the first special education classes in Freeborn County.

Elaine was a member of Community Lutheran Church. She especially loved family celebrations, riding her bicycle, having coffee, embroidery, and making macram hangers.

She is survived by her parents, her sister Gail and her husband Butch Ottesen, of Delavan; brothers Mark and his wife Sharon Sorenson and Tim and his wife Jolene Sorenson, all of Geneva, and Scott and his wife Jan Sorenson of Troy, Mont.; nieces Jill Kehne, Laura Ortiz, Brooke Krohn and Paige Sorenson; and nephews Dak and Tyler Sorenson.

Elaine was preceded in death by her grandparents, Peder (P.J.) and Elsie Skaar, and Julius and Clara Sorenson.
