Jane Kiefer, 48, married/ divorced name Jane Smallwood, was born March 9, 1957, and died Dec. 22, 2005, in Cooperstown, N.Y., after periodic hospitalizations and an extended illness.

She was preceded in death by her adopted parents. She was without full siblings and had no survivors, no children or recognized family.

Her life began with a quick mind, good heart, and a life of potential. Her life which had ample sadness, and which was laced with tragedy, has now ended.

At her request, no friends were notified of her impending death. This notice is a rejection of her attempt to die forgotten and in anonymity.

Her cremated remains will be interned in southern Minnesota without identification. At her request, there will no services.
