Matilda Jorgenson, 81, of Albert Lea

The funeral service for Matilda Dorothy Jorgenson will be held at 10:30
a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before the service at the church.
Matilda died on Monday, Jan. 2, 2006 at Albert Lea Medical Center.
She was 81 years old.
Matilda was born in Jackson, Minn., on June 5, 1924, the daughter of Fred and Carrie (Knoll) Weseman. She moved to Hollandale with her family at the age of two and attended grade school in Hollandale and Albert Lea High School.
On Feb. 21, 1947 Matilda was united in marriage with Kenneth Jorgenson at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She had worked for Star Furniture in Albert Lea but
had primarily been a loving homemaker. She and Kenneth were crossing guards at Southwest Junior High School for several years.
Matilda and Kenneth enjoyed traveling to the west and southwest, which they did for many years. Matilda’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were very important to her and she loved the time spent with them.
Matilda is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of Albert Lea; son, Ronald (Cindi) Jorgenson, of Redwing, Minn., two daughters: Candance Jorgenson, of Albert Lea, and Lonna (David) Smith, of Dodgeville, Wis.; four grandchildren: Amy (Christopher) DeWall, of Red Wing, Minn., Sara (Jamie) Meyer, of Medford, Minn., Troy Smith, of Dodgeville, Wis. and Travis (Jennifer) Smith, of Dodgeville, Wis.; six great grandchildren: Aaron and Amanda DeWall, Jonathon and Jack Meyer, Lillian and Ethan Smith; one brother, Lewis (Marian) Weseman, of Albert Lea; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Lloyd (Jennie) Weseman, Claude (Beatrice) Weseman, and Theodore Weseman.
