Ruth Haukoos, 91, of Walters

Ruth (Anderson) Haukoos, age 91, of Walters, Minn., died on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at Good Samaritan Care Center in rural Albert Lea.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at 2 p.m. at United Lutheran Church in Walters, with the Rev. Donald Rose officiating. Visitation will be held at Bruss – Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, and one hour prior to services at church on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Walters Cemetery in Walters, Minn.

Ruth Haukoos was born on Feb. 20, 1914, in Crookston, Minn., the daughter of Reinhart and Sine (Lee) Anderson. She graduated from Bricelyn High School. She married Earl Haukoos on Oct. 7, 1939, at the Bethany Lutheran parsonage in rural Frost. She has lived most of her life in the Walters area. She was a member of United Lutheran Church and the Rachel Circle. She was a member of the Walters Senior Citizens. She enjoyed quilting and baking.

She is survived by her husband: Earl &8220;Tommy&8221; Haukoos, of Walters, her children: Richard and Susan Haukoos, of Albert Lea, Mary and husband Ervin Gerber, of Walters, Dale and wife Donnell Haukoos, of Northwood, Iowa, Paul and wife Nadine Haukoos, of St. Peter; grandchildren: Greg Haukoos, Ricky (Julie) Haukoos, Michael (Shelly) Haukoos, David Haukoos, Amy (Patric) Pehrson, Jean Baca (fianc Mike Enz), Eric Gerber (special friend Margaret Vonlehe), Rhonda Haukoos (special friend Jim West), Rachel (Jay) Kerns, Kristine (Chris) Voeltz, Chad Haukoos, Brian (Sarah) Haukoos, Mark Haukoos (special friend Lucy Atkins), Leisa (Todd) Fergot and Vanessa Reed; 17 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren; one sister Emma Anderson of California and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Andrew, Sam, Sam, Trygve Anderson, sister Sally Hill, grandson Brent Haukoos, grandson-in-law Mark Baca.
