Carl A. Bartness, age 78, of Faribault, died on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at St. Lucas Care Center, Faribault.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steven J. Kuehne officiating.
Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Carl A., the son of Carl and Stella (Rodsater) Bartness was born July 3, 1927, in Manchester, Minn. On Nov. 21, 1948, he married Beverly Matthies in Sioux Falls, S.D. Carl served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He owned and operated Modern Printers in Faribault for 37 years. Carl loved to spend time with his grandchildren as well as woodcarving, painting, reading and music.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of Faribault; three children, Timothy Bartness of Atlanta; Rebecca Bazan of St. Paul; Ruth (and Jim) Pitt of Faribault and eight grandchildren, Lacey and Zachary Bartness, Michael, Kathryn and Larissa Bazan, Jennifer, Jason and Tyler Pitt; a sister, Sylvia Paulson of Great Falls, Mont.
He was preceded in death by his son Lonnie Bartness, his parents, one brother Chester Bartness and one sister Margie Drury.
Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.
