Frank Albert Pearson, age 84, of Lyle, died Monday morning, Feb. 6, 2006, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. He was born June 25, 1921, to Alof and Pearl (Howard) Pearson in Chokio, Minn. After graduation from Ankeny (Iowa) High School in 1939, Frank attended Austin Vo-Tech and took up farming near Lyle. He married Helen Kruger on March 2, 1952, at Oakland Lutheran Church. In 1967 he went to work for Owatonna Tool Company where he retired in 1983. Frank and Helen divorced in 1973. He enjoyed spending winters in Colorado and Florida with his sisters. After retirement he attended Dakota County Vo-Tech in Rosemount. A member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lyle, Frank liked reading the newspaper, politics and shopping. He became a resident of St. John’s Lutheran Home of Albert Lea in 2004.
Survivors include children, Mark (Jackie) Pearson of Owatonna; Jane (Barry Ingvaldson) Pearson of Albert Lea; LoriAnn Dirksen of Austin; David Pearson of Austin; seven grandchildren, Matt Radke, Amy (Ryan) Strand, Brent Pearson, Eric Pearson, Nicole Pearson, Bryan Dirksen, Scott Dirksen; four great grandchildren, Briana, Brendon and Brooklyn Strand; Ali Radke; sister, Valorie Pearson of Melbourne, Fla.; Phyliss (Paul) Gustafson of Melbourne, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Virginia Snyder and Alyce Hillmer; brother in infancy, Clark; great grandson, Makio Radke.
Memorial services were held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with the Rev. Barbara Finley-Shea officiating. Friends called from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday at Worlein Funeral Home. Interment was at Rose Creek Enterprise Cemetery, rural Austin at 4 p.m., Thursday. There was no reviewal.
