Gretchen (Gray) Stieler

Graveside services for Gretchen A. Stieler, former music consultant for the Spokane, Wash., Public Schools, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Shady Oak Cemetery, rural Albert Lea. The Rev. John Bromeland will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by Albert Lea veterans’ organizations.
Miss Stieler graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1933. During World War II she was a WAC lieutenant assigned to the Army Air Corps as a Special Services Officer. She joined Spokane Public Schools Music Department in 1948. She retired in 1977.
She is preceded in death by her parents Hugo and Mary Stieler, brothers Donald, Philip, Robert and Carlyle.
Survivors include two nieces, one nephew and her sister-in-law, Jeanette Stieler McIvar.
