Josephine Cech, 88, rural Glenville

Memorial services for Josephine Cech, age 88, of rural Glenville, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at the First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the Church.
Josephine died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006, at her home.
Josephine Cech was born March 21, 1917, to Louis and Josephine (Benesh) Belshan in Shellrock Township. On May 27, 1940, she was united in marriage to Anton Cech in Albert Lea. The couple farmed in the area for many years. Josephine was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She was an excellent seamstress and cook, but her greatest love was her gardens and flower beds, where she spent many hours tending her lovely plants. Josephine also loved her two dogs and cats. Above all, she was devoted to her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Garnys Nelson of Glenville and Valorae Dubey of Welch; grandchildren: Shannon (Elroy) Poplow, Tristen (David) Wirkus, Graden (Darla) Nelson, Brandon Cech, and Barry (Katie) Cech; great-grandchildren: Tyler and Chelsea Poplow, Shayla and Hunter Wirkus, and Colt-Ethan Nelson; sisters, Emily Cech and Helen Dockwell; brothers: Fred (Gladys) Belshan, Milo (Betty) Belshan, and Alva Belshan; and many nieces and nephews.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anton; sons, Dallas and Delyn; sons-in-law, Robert Nelson and Carl Dubey; brothers, Louis, Edward, and Anton; sister, Lillian; and brothers-in-law: Charles, Richard, Frank, and Joe.
