M. Elizabeth Lunning, 88, of Clarks Grove

The funeral service for M. Elizabeth Lunning of Clarks Grove will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the First Baptist Church of Clarks Grove. The Rev. Jamie Cameron will officiate. Interment will be in the Clarks Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Elizabeth died on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. She was 88.
She was born on Sept. 16, 1917, on a farm near Clarks Grove, the daughter of Harry C. and Fernia (Peterson) Hanson.
She married Clayton Lunning on Nov. 21, 1938 in Northwood, Iowa.
Elizabeth loved to cook and bake for her family, neighbors and friends. She enjoyed listening to old time and big band music. She was especially proud of her role as great grandmother and time spent with her great grandchildren was most precious to her.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Wright (Jack), Judy Myers (Bill), Jean Bergo (Larry), Steve Lunning (Vicki) and Craig Lunning (Myrna); 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; her sisters Dorothy Hanna, Lois Schreiber (Merlin), and Pat Pederson (Terry); sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Marion Traverso, Kenneth Lunning (Lorraine) and Wauneita Brindel; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton in 1999, son Richard, and brother Harry P. Hanson.
Elizabeth was a quiet, soft-spoken, wife, mother, grandmother and will always be remembered for her special kisses and hugs.
