The Shell Rock River Dam on Albert Lea Lake is more than 70 years old, and was damaged by flooding in the past few years. The Shell Rock River Watershed District Board hopes to replace the dam with a structure that will allow the lake to be drawn down to reduce winter ice damage and provide water storage for floods.
