The funeral service for Alta Josephine Amelia Anderson will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Albert Lea. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Burial will be in St. Ansgar Cemetery, rural Ellendale, Minn. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the Chapel.

Alta died on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Just Like Home Place, Albert Lea. She was 81 years old.

Alta was born in Pickeral Lake Township, Freeborn County, Minn., on June 26, 1924, the daughter of Anton Severin and Charlotte Marie Amelia (Anderson) Anderson. She lived her entire life in the Albert Lea area and was a graduate of Albert Lea High School.

She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she had been baptized. She had worked for DeSoto Egg Packing Co. in Albert Lea for many years and she had also done waitress work at various restaurants in Albert Lea. She loved the outdoors and in her younger years, enjoyed riding horses and being with her dogs. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her friends.

Alta is survived by cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a twin brother, Alton Joseph Anderson in 1949.
