Kary Alfred Kleinschrodt, age 27, of Albert Lea, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 24, at Emmons Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Julie Fiske officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills, Iowa, and again one hour prior to the service at the church in Emmons. Burial will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Emmons.
Kary Alfred Kleinschrodt was born Dec. 8, 1978, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was welcomed into the family and hearts of parents, Dwight and Linette (Stene) Kleinschrodt, and sister, Kristal on Jan. 22, 1979.
He left this world as a result of head injuries suffered in an auto accident, on March 19, 2006. He was 27 years old. During the 34 hours he was hospitalized, there was a constant stream of people whose lives he had touched and made better. He is continuing to make lives better by donating his organs to those who need them.
Kary was a lifelong member of Emmons Lutheran Church, and attended school in Lake Mills, Iowa, and then Albert Lea.
Kary worked in construction and most recently at the Albert Lea Seed House. He adored his dog, Maggie, and loved riding his four-wheel ATV. He was full of life, energy and could always make people laugh. He loved a challenge and activity. He was always willing to help others and had many friends who loved him. He has left a gaping hole in our lives.
Kary will be sadly missed by his parents, Dwight and Linette of Albert Lea; sister Kristal Oachs of Rake, Iowa; special friend Laura Omodt of Albert Lea; his former wife Lisa Wojszynski of Albert Lea; grandmother Mable Stene, grandparents Gerda and George Kleinschrodt of Albert Lea; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Melvin Stene and several uncles.
