Kathryn Nelson, 86, of Austin

Kathryn J. Nelson, age 86, of Austin died Friday, March 3, 2006, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home.

She was born June 24, 1919, in Albert Lea to Luther and Selma (Gunderson) Johnson. Kathryn graduated from the Albert Lea High School and attended Waldorf College. She was married to Roger W. Nelson on July 29, 1941, in Geneva, Minn. Kathryn worked at the First Bank in Austin. She was a charter member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Austin, the Austin Country Club and enjoyed playing bridge.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband Roger on May 14, 1993.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with The Reverend Dan Kahl officiating. Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery in Geneva, Minn. Visitation will be held at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Monday March 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church for one hour before the service. The family prefers memorials to Our Saviors Lutheran Church or to St. Mark’s Lutheran Home.

Music will be by, Jan and Conrad Muzik. Soloist will be Erin Schumacher.

Casket Bearers will be Daniel Muzik, Shannon Loecher, Blaine and Nancy Arneson, Robert and Kathleen Loecher.

Kathryn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Marla, Nelson, of Austin, granddaughter, Nancy Nelson, of

the U of M, Minneapolis, sister, Pauline Lageson, of Green Bay, Wis., brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Ardythe Johnson, of Phoenix, Ariz., Nieces and Nephews.
