Mark Staloch, 54, of Twin Lakes

Funeral services for Mark Allen Staloch of Twin Lakes will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at St. Theodore Catholic Church of Albert Lea. The Rev. James Berning will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 until 8 at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. A scripture prayer service will be held Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be in St. Theodore Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Area veterans groups.

Mark died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at his home in Twin Lakes. He was 54 years of age.

Mark was born June 2, 1951, in Albert Lea, the son of Edward and Marjorie (Murphy) Staloch. He was a graduate of Albert Lea High School and Denver Community College in Denver, Colo. On Oct. 15, 1983, he was united in marriage to Leah Pederson at St. Theodore Catholic Church.

Mark lived most of his life in Freeborn County. He enjoyed his &8220;out west&8221; time in Denver, Colo., and Grants, N.M., working in the mines. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Twin Lakes and was active playing the organ, praying the Rosary, as a Eucharistic minister and money counter. Mark was employed by the State of Minnesota in the Department of Transportation as a truck driver, retiring in 2003 after 20 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan, assigned to communications during the Vietnam war.

Mark was active in the Elks, Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Teams of Our Lady. He was an avid sports fan and had a special love for soccer where he refereed many games. Mark was on bowling, volleyball and basketball leagues, and he also loved to hunt and fish, camping and spending time with his family.

Mark is survived by his father, Edward Staloch of Albert Lea; three daughters; Sydney Staloch of Duluth, Emily Staloch of Vermillion, S.D., and Kirsten Staloch of Albert Lea; brothers and sisters; Jim Staloch of Littleton, Colo., Robert (Sue) Staloch of Albert Lea, Michael (Susie) Staloch of Midland, Mich., David (Janet) Staloch of Rochester, Barb (Rande) Haukoos of Forest City, Iowa, Joanne (Ross) Knutson of Albert Lea, Mary (Butch) Nelson of Rochester, Theresa (Tim) Jensen of Albert Lea, Kathleen (Ron) Tustin of Spring, Texas; mother- and father-in-law Harlan and Glennys Pederson of Yankton, S.D.; brother- and sister-in-law Leanne and John Patterson of Gillette, Wyo., and Lenny and Gloria Pederson of Omaha, Neb.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother Marjorie, wife Leah, brother John, sister Ann, and brother-in-law Duane Pederson and sister-in-law Judy Staloch.
