Marvin LeRoy Rye was Born Sept. 18, 1921, in Fertile, Iowa. He died Feb. 20, 2006, in Lynwood, Wash.

Marvin married Ardys Erdal on Dec. 2, 1945, in Rake, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 2001.

He survived by children Ralph (Mary), Amelia Nossum and Marty (Kathy); grandchildren Hannah, Ellen, Rachel, Elsa, Olav, Carrie, Kelsey and Kirsten; and brothers Dean Gordon and Donald.

Marvin had a genuine spirit devoted to Christ and loving his family. His long career in banking included service as Minnesota Commissioner of Banks.

A memorial service at Roseville Lutheran Church will be at 11 on Saturday, March 18. The graveside service at East Zion Cemetery, Rake Iowa, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 19.
