&8220;Both players were one bad hole away from medaling,&8221; said head coach Shawn Riebe.

&8220;Kaeli has advanced to sectionals the past two seasons and she is capable of shooting in the 80s without a doubt.

We are 2-0 in duals and placing better in invites than we have in the past.&8221;

Mariah Howe added a 100, Ali Demmer shot a 101, Alli Arnold carded a 102 and April Heilmann finished with a 108.

Blooming Jefferson won the girls’ title with a 360.

The Albert Lea boys finished sixth with a 337.

New Prague and Orono tied for the top spot with a 322.

Tyler Brackey led the way for the Tigers with an 80 and Alex Lair was right behind him with an 81. Those efforts left Brackey finished in a sixth place tie among the 63 golfers in the tournament while Lair was ninth.

Alex is solid even though he is struggling with his swing right now,&8221; said Tiger head coach Riley Worth.

&8220;If he is able to shoot 80 now it bodes well when he gets his swing going.

Tyler is putting better and shot 78 and 80 the past two days which is something for an eighth-grader.&8221;

Drew Klick shot an 86, Mike Larson rounded out the top four with a 90, Grant Stadheim shot 91 and Casey Marka added a 95.

The Tigers are back in action Tuesday in Austin.

Albert Lea did beat the Packers at New Prague which should give them a boost of confidence heading into the dual.
