Eight-run sixth inning gets Rebels a win

WELLS &045;&160;The United South Central baseball team entered the bottom of the sixth inning tied with Wascea.
Eight runs later the Rebels had wrapped up a convincing win, 13-7.
Twelve batters stepped to the plate for USC in the inning as it seized control of the game.
Eric Grunzke and Zach Badura started the inning with back-to-back walks before Derek Schmit singled to get on.
Jake Bonsack drove in the first run with a single.
A fielder’s choice and, a base hit and a walk would plate four more runs before Granzke delived a single to plate two more.
Grunzke picked up the win for tthe Rebels pitching all seven innings striking out three and walking three.
He only gave up three hits on the night.
Schmidt finished the night with three hits
as did Chris Yost as the pair combined to score five of the team’s 13 runs.
The Rebels face Blooming Prairie tomorrow night.
