LaVerne Clarence Reese, 70, of Albert Lea

Funeral services for LaVerne Clarence Reese, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2006, at the LeSueur River Lutheran Church of New Richland, Minn. The Rev. Charles Espe will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5 until 7 at the Friedrich Funeral Home in New Richland, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the LeSueur River Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Reese died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at his home in Albert Lea. He was 70 years of age.

LaVerne was born May 29, 1935, in Albert Lea, the son of Clarence and Dorothy (Echternach) Reese. He was a graduate of New Richland High School in 1954 and moved to Albert Lea in 1957. LaVerne

had been employed by the Streater Co. for 39 years, retiring in 2000.

In his free time, LaVerne enjoyed bowling, playing cards, woodworking, listening to a good ball game and being with his dog Porsche.

LaVerne is survived by his children; Lynette Davis of Lufkin, Texas, Michael Reese of Albert Lea, Alan Reese of Bakersfield, Calif., and Chris (Tracy) Reese of Rosemount, Minn. There are five grandchildren; Cullen Davis, SaVanna Reese, Jordan Sullivan, Amanda Reese and Rachael Reese. Also surviving is one sister; June Holmen of New Richland, Minn., and several nieces and nephews.

LaVerne was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Norman Holmen.
